| Freddy Vette & the Flames have been rocking since 2002. Everyone
below have been with me since the beginning except Kevin and Laura
Our show is not an impersonation type show. Wait a minute...maybe it is. We do our best to impersonate a Rock & Roll band plucked from the explosive era of 1955-1959 and transported to you over 50 years later scroll down Although the great recordings of the music from that time are still sounding fresh as a daisy, most of the original performers are pushing up daisies. Wow, that was a poor choice of words! Still, kinda funny Anyway, that's where we come in. Rock & Roll music is at it's best when performed in front of a LIVE audience by a LIVE band. It's that simple. Our show is an ATOMIC, ENTERTAINING, ELECTRIFYING, TRUE Rock & Roll Spectacle that pays RESPECT to the music, the artists and the audience that started it all Here's a look at the good folks that help me make it happen
Freddy Vette - vocals, piano, guitar - Born on a mountain top in Tennessee...not really. More like a hospital in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Oh well, not so legendary. I've been playing music in some sort of band since I was fourteen. Since forming this band however, things have really taken off. I love Rock & Roll music. It gives me goosebumps when I hear it and when I play it. Enough about me
Betty Vette - vocals - The Queen of Shake. You wanna believe it. Have mercy! She's leads our female vocal trio and does a fabulous job. Connie Francis, Patsy Cline, Chiffons....all that good stuff. Betty also designs and co-ordinates the stage attire for the girls. She doesn't sew, but she knows what she likes! I guess she likes me 'cause she married me
Marianne Heroux - vocals - Harmonizer extraordinaire. That's french for harmonizer extraordinaire. Marianne has been with us since the beginning and continues to bring it every night, singing her brains out. We finally got to use her bilingual skills at a gig this year that featured english and french speaking folk. Parlez-vous Rock & Roll
Laura Vandermeer - vocals - Laura's been with us since early 2006 and has been a great asset to the band. She rounds out the harmony vocals with her soprano voice. Always upbeat and ready to rock, Laura's enthusiasm for the band and the music hits the audience right between the eyes
Gary Buffett - drums - Timekeeper, Shufflemonger, Groovemover. Playing the nearly famous flaming Ludwig drum kit, Gary is ground-zero for the groove and the heartbeat of all songs we play. When he's not kicking it out with me, he teaches the art of percussion to his flock of students
Ken Globe - upright bass - Slappin' that big thing till he's blistered. Ken plays his upright bass in that old slapping style which gives such authenticity to our sound. If you see our show you notice the multi-coloured strings on his bass. He strung his bass with weed-whacker string because it's easier on his hands. ....and it's pretty
Kevin Crotty - guitar - Playing licks since hell was a grassfire. He's not that old, I just like that saying. Kevin's been with us since the beginning of 2004. He lets his playing do the talking on stage and makes a study in perfecting the sounds and licks of all those great rock & roll songs
Wayne Mills - sax - Ladies, it's only a wind instrument. Chicks love the sax. Don't ask me why, they just do. Wayne's love of music, especially rock & roll, go way back and way deep. His energy on stage is amazing and he takes the whole band along with him |
